There should be advanced camera for Golf as well, so there should be controller too. This controller was not from the Tiguan and codding it involved little bit of extra work. I see that car only on some weekends, so it's a work in progress. The intention is to calibrate the camera lines as well, so the one can trust the lines on the screen in the tight parking lots.
I think to retrofit, you would have to re-install the lot, since the wiring is different as well as the camera.
My RVC arrived today for the new Tiguan Am I looking forward to tomorrow NO I still have vivid memories of the last installation six months ago with gnarled knuckles and sore fingers. The things we do to keep us occupied over the holidays!

Personally I didn't find this installation all that difficult.
The thing that was a pain for me was working out which side of the boot to run the wires down from the camera/handle. I initially ran all the wires down to the left side first as I intended on picking up power from the 12V socket in the boot, however couldn't locate the trigger for the reverse signal on the left, so had to re-run the trigger wires back over to the right side.
In hind-sight I should have located the points I was going to connect to first before running the wires....
Who reads the manual? Don't you only do this as a last resort?
Actually I did have a guide which I kind of followed, however it had the 12V outlet on the right side and mine was on the left so ran all the wires down there. I thought I could tap into the reverse light on the left side, however the reverse light/wire is pretty much all sealed up on the left... so ended up taking the trigger wires over to the right and hooking into the dealer fitted reverse sensors - much easier as they'd already picked off the wires I needed.
IMO, the easy job is when it takes no longer than 1 hour and it is plug and play. The RVC installation is neither, so it goes in other than easy category of the jobs.
