    Sounds like it's definitely do-able.

Please do post up pics of the process if successful, especially the removing of door trim and controllers.

Alternatively, I'd settle for a copy of the manual.

Please also consider posting pics of the required coding into the http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/foru...ons-57346.html thread.

Had a scan of the door modules this avi and will wait for the DVD manual before I start dismantling. I did notice that using the analogy above, VCDS says the value of 256 should be added to the current short coding value of the door module for seat memory (lowering door mirror?) In my case the passenger door module current value is 692 which seems rather low when compared to their std? current value of 1204 which may also now include the back door components. What is yours? And have you ever done a mod using this principal of just adding numbers to your current short code configuration. Maybe by adding this software mod it may fool the module into activating the lowering function of the mirror.

While I was looking at that I also activated the static cornering lighting (AFS) just using the std headlights. Just tried it out pretty cool apparently it only works on the pre 2010 models. Last month I bought an AUTO headlight switch and activated the coming/leaving home function which works fine even without the light sensor.

Just picked up a new Tiguan and did an Autoscan of it this morning. The front door controllers now incorporate the rear door modules and the long coding suggest these will support the door lights that Mr Xiu is selling

Update - rear footwell lights in Tiguan

I bring up this old thread with an update on the topic of rear footwell lights in TIGUAN, which are not present not even as an option AFAIK:

          FRONT footwell lights

Bold sport kit with LED upgrade built-in (find on bold-sport)
          • The dash already has cutouts for the OEM lights to just clip in (for driver it's near the OBD port).
          • The kit comes with the wiring, you just need to push the pin into the right place in the BCM connector.
          • For 2008 mk5 based Tig it was connector B pin 7, for a newer mk6 based Tig it is connector B pin 50 - the bold sport website shows all the details.
          • The BCM is located above the fusebox, under the driver's side dash on a RHD vehicle.
          • Dimming footwell lights from the instrument cluster menu works great.

          REAR footwell lights
          • The rear footwells (under the front seats) don't have spaces for the OEM light units
          • These sturdy aluminium LED bar lights from Jaycar Australia fit perfectly and can be screwed in to the seat bottom with small screws - there is a plastic area just at the back of the seat which angles the LED lights just right, and is easy to screw into. Or use cable ties if you don't feel like making small screw holes
          • I ran the wiring together with the loom going to the seat (so it doesn't get pinched when you slide the seat), then under the carpet to travel along the door sills. Then connected to the front footwell lights wiring loom from boldsport.
          • The door sill trims just clip out (see OEM RVC install, same location). Note for the passenger side, you need to unclip the trunk release button which is easy when you know how: You need to undo and remove the small clip which sits under the handle, towards the front of the car.

Aluminium LED bar light from Jaycar, part number ST3918. Cost $40 for two.
Comes with wiring and screws to attach to the seat.

I can't remember sorry... I think there may have been a single Bit to enable the CECM,
but it is all labelled in VCDS so should be easy.

In 2008 Tig I have old Mk5 CECM + CCM, no BCM, looks like this, part number 3C0 937 049 AH (30-byte "MID" unit)

                Hello YellowLemon!

                Very interesting mod, congratulations!

Can you take a picture to help me locate the BCM? How difficult is to do this retrofit? I'm only interested on front footwell light...

                Cheers.

In RHD Tiguan in Australia, in 2008 year, CECM is just above the fuse box, which is above the driver side pedals. HOWEVER on LHD vehicle it may be on drivers side, or on passenger side behind glovebox (maybe have to remove glove box) - sorry I don't know.

From the front it looks like a bunch of relays attached to a black box:

To insert the wire into connector, you have to access the cables from the bottom, it looks like this:

Not difficult, just very "tricky", have to climb under dash upside down to access connector Fronts only took me 30 mins - 1 hour maximum.

On mk6 electronics BCM (new name for CECM+CCM) looks like this, with only 3 connectors, much easier to do!

                    Thanks for the detailed photos!

Even on LHD the fusebox is on driver side

On a Tiguan MY2010 what should I found: BCM or CECM+CCM? Can I know it from a VAG scan or I need to check under the dash?

                    Cheers.

On MY2010 you will have BCM =three big connectors. It is easier to do on 2010+ than on MY 2008-2009
