If I were to get the seat covers, I would go for this one; Canvas Seat Covers | MSA 4x4 | Cotton Lined Canvas Seat Covers

    They're ADR certified.

There are a few on ebay as well.

I would bear in mind that the Tiguan has side mounted seat airbags so the seatcovers would have to account for those....

I ordered some Ilanas airbag compatible covers in Feb - custom made & quite expensive, which didn't come close to fitting when they arrived, and lacked map pockets and velcro ties. Sent them back for refund. Found some generic (but identical design) ones in Super Cheap auto, made by Ilanas, airbag compatible, include map pocket and velcro ties, fit much better and were $50 a set.

Supa Cheap let me try before I bought.

Hardest part is getting around the plastic on the oyside of the seats - basically just have to tuck everything in behind the plastic and forget about the cross tie.

I bought these for mine - Fit great apart from the bottom of the centre fold - I ended up amputating as it requires the complete removal of the back seats to fit.

            Something to consider.....

They look pretty good, but doubt if it is a self install. You need to be a double-jointed octopus just to put normal covers on.

The $50 Deploy Safe ones I got from Supa Cheap are basically to stop initial spills and dirt, but think I'll get sheepskin soon. I drive 45000k a year, so comfort is necessary. I had some fake sheepskin looking things for years. they started off on a magna, went thru 2 foresters, and were still going strong when i sold it. Tough as nails, easy clean and fit virtually anything, but not suitable for seat airbags.

A guy at work has the wetsuit material type and swears by them for comfort and toughness. He has them in a Prado and fishes a lot so needs something water and bait proof.

Water proof seatcovers, The Wet Seat, car seat covers

It's ridiculous VW don't make any - although at the price they charge for accessories, I doubt anyone would buy them. The dealer I asked said the standard seat materials are so tough, it is better to replace the whole seat in 5 years....like he would know...and like anyone could afford that exercise!
