  • 2012 tiguan - 6 speeds tiptronic update

    Hi gents,

Got my 2012 Tiguan -132 Pacific Model in Feb . My Tiguan have done 3000Km so far so good , the only thing I notice is the car some time make noise/vibration around 1000 – 1300 rpm as other members have mention before .

I rang up and spoken to [mailto:Jana.Hleis@volkswagen.com.au] VW customer care , she then direct me to VW service Department in Parramatta Sydney where i bought the car.

Spoken to the Tech Adviser - he told me that he have number of customer having the same issue. He confirmed that VW Australia is AWARE of this issue and a new software update will roll out to rectify this.

I have booked my details and a waiting list to update as soon as it available in Aus.

If your guys have the same issue then drop VW Customer Care a call or email to register for this update.

Note: This software update to the 6 speeds transmission is being carry out in US and Canada .

and here is my love one : Black Pear - 4 Motion with RNS510 - DVD is in motion .

Looks good, the new 16" wheel style is a lot better than the old ones.

I read on vortex there was a fix for the 6 speed slushbox auto but didn't know it was available for the Aus market!

yes, i will keep every one here once i have more info from VW-Aus . Regarding APR update i think it different story as APR tune is increase power train from engine nothing to do with gear box. I suggest you just email/call VW-Customer Care they hassle them to speed up the process .

          Cheer,

I understand, but if the update to the software is part of the ECU, then when APR reflash the ECU file I have on their system then it will undo the software changes. Which I hope is not the case of course!

            Thanks Becoolbabe.

If you have an APR update, then VW perform an update, APR will fairly quickly incorporate the VW update into theirs.
At least that's what I'm lead to believe. Not tried it yet.

A trip back to your tuner will then get you that new update, maybe for a small labour charge, but i guess that depends on your relationship and $ spend with the tuner.

Nobody should do an APR mod or similar who is not prepared to pay.

I am sick and tired of the transmission issue, and was wanting to know if anyone in Sydney, has had any luck getting the Transmission Control Module ( TCM ) udpated, and fixed ?

                    Please help !

Sorry to bump an old thread, but just purchased a 132 TSI with this gearbox and immediately noticed the vibration, exactly as described here.

Also did find that it was fixed via software update to the gearbox in USA/Canada, since there was never an answer to this thread what is the status on this issue for these cars?

Maybe talk to your local dealer and see if there’s an update available.

                          Tigger73,
Yes but I thought it would have been done a long time ago as per service schedule?

It's always been serviced at VW here, same place it was purchased.

You thought wrong. The software updates are done when needed. If the owner of the car didn’t complain about anything and car was driving fine, why would you take the risk that something may go wrong with update or characteristics of the car change?

I’d be furious if they updated my car automatically and it’d negatively affect how it drives, wouldn’t you?

Agreed, however I'm surprised this was not attended too earlier!

Just spoke to two VW dealerships and both said they dont know of any such update, or any such issue.

They want to see the car, min charge $180 to look at it... and no guarantee of software update.

                              Disappointing!
