Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • VW Tiguan 132TSi Pacific Auto - ECU Tune

    Hey guys,

Just bought a brand new VW Tiguan 132TSi Pacific on Saturday. Waiting for it to be shipped and all that. I've been reading up on the ECU tuning and noticed a lot of people that have gotten them have either a manual or the DSG thing.
Mine's just a 6 speed auto I'm 98% sure, I was wondering what the ECU tune would be like on that? Would it still see a great increase in power?

    Cheers for your help,
    Cody

The ECU tune is going to be the same no matter what gearbox.
It will be the same as the older 125TSI slushbox upgrade.

what's the 125TSI slushbox upgrade? Bit of a noob in relation to anything slightly to do with modding cars..
Nice tig btw, love the colour.

The attached is one of the more thorough threads and deals with just bout everything to do with 'tuning' our Tigs.

        Cheers

The slushbox is the old style (non-dsg) auto gearbox.

The 125TSI is essentially the same as the 132TSI so if you want to know how it goes it will be the same as anyone who has a 125TSI auto (non dsg) that has the stage 1 ecu upgrade.

Hi, looks like you got what I got. The auto is tiptronic, and supposedly the most durable of all the transmissions (manual, dsg).

See my impressions of my tune here:

Beauty, thanks for all your help guys. I'll definitely get it in the future, might just wait a bit due to still being on my P's haha.
