Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

VCDS can't damage the car. I would say disconnect the battery for a couple of minutes and try again.

I'd like to see what the fault codes are. Cut and paste them into the thread or email me.

I think GAVIN may be right! Took out the battery to charge. This is why i love this forum, friendly help is just what i needed.
Will let you know how it goes in the morning, if correct, funds will be coming your way.

I recall reading someone had a similar issue (lots of dash lights, car wouldn't start) which was resolved by recharging/replacing the battery
Some say he was the Stig... all we know is that he drives a VW Transporter.

Wow, must be that time of year as my OEM battery died on the weekend. Was replaced under warranty though, so I'm not complaining at the moment, but a bit dissappointing I only got about 2.5 years out of the OEM factory battery.
