Paint and Interior Protection

Hey Guys,

Am anticipating taking delivery of my new Tig in 5-6 weeks. I intend to get some paint and leather protection done pretty much straight away.

I have seen Nanolex mentioned throughtout some other threads for the paint. However, I'm going to get someone to do this rather than myself. I've done a google search, but there are just so many results come up it's rediculous.

Has anyone had this professionally done, and are there any reccomendations or suggestions. I am on the northside of Brisbane...

Nanolex or opticoat would be your best options.
You can also get a PPF film installed which is more pricey but works better apparently.

Not sure who does these though.

I too am taking delivery of my Tiggy sometime in early May but have been advised by numerous colleagues and car enthusiasts, that paint protection is a total waste of money. My dealership tried to push paint protection on me for $1000 for a product called Nanotech paint.

There's really no anecdotal evidence that paint protection works unless you really don't intend to wash your car and care for its paint work by regularly putting some elbow grease by waxing the car on a 6monthly basis.

Anyways just food for thought. Do a google on paint protection and in particularly the efficacy of paint protection and or Nanotech paint protection

I have about 129 reasons why there is no such thing as true protection for your paint. They can be found within the same dinner-plate sized piece of bonnet. [120kmh+rock] > [protection product]

Wash your car regularly and keep an eye on it. Don't waste your money.

Had my Tig 4 weeks and had leather and paint protection done using 5th dimension products. So far so good. Paintwork and leather is immaculate. Myother car is a 7 yr old Accord Euro which had paint and leather protection. Still looks good after a quick wash. I won't claim its magic or that all systems work. But it seems to be the in thing to criticise it and that a good waxing etc every 6 months or so does the same. It does not, waxing is hard work to do it properly and you need to do it more than once a month to keep the protection.
You know people pay extra for foglights in this country

When I say protection, I don't mean scratch proof. I realise you're not going to be protected from branches, rocks, people opening the door into your car etc etc.

Just want to maintain that showroom shine!

I just don't have the time nor patience to do a full cut, polish, wax etc. I guess building a relationship with local detailer and getting it done every 6 months or so is an option.

In 1999 I bought our first new car, Subaru Forester, since then I’m always on a look out for the best wax or paint protection. I started with the Mothers and still coming back to that product. I found out that the 3 stage product is long lasting and if you wash your car properly and no more than once a week it stays one whole year (car parked outside). The other product that works for me well is Autoglym that is currently on the Tiguan. I used Super Resin and seal it with Extra Gloss Protection.
We put Nanolex on our son's in law new RS Octavia and I can't say that it is any better than Mothers or Autoglym, certainly when the car is dirty and you wash it with the high pressure cleaner only, it doesn't come any cleaner than it would have ordinary wax on it, you still have to use bucket and sponge to have a clean car.

All our cars are light colours, so maybe on the darker colours, the nano and other more exotic products work better.
