Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • MaxTrax - anyone used them?

Am heading up to Nth QLD this year, and thinking of grabbing a set of MaxTrax ( www.maxtrax.com.au ) in case of minor sand bogging. Obviously Tig's in standard config don't have great underbody clearance nor approach/departure angles but am curious if anyone's used the MaxTrax with their Tig? FYI I'm running OEM Kumho tyres and no Off Road pack. Thoughts, opinions? Cheers!

Check the previous threads, you will find them in the sticky index http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/foru...sts-47755.html you will find a lot of interesting threads there.

Not many Tig owners here are keen off roaders, because without the track and field nose the approach and departure angles are not much better than on average family wagon.

So grab any help you can get and I still have the lift kit that gives you extra 20mm ground clearance, if you interested.
