Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Has anyone had air bags fitted to their rear suspension on their Tiguan?
    Cheers

I don't recall seeing it posted, but Jimbomort has lift kit fitted to his Tig. I bought the same lift kit and never got to it fitted, still have it and is for sale if you interested.

By curiosity what would be the advantage beside height adjustment?
My only guess would be a smoother ride with less noise from the road, is this the reason?

        Hey Transporter,

Out of curiosity, A) How big of a lift would your kit give? B) What price are you looking for? C) Would it be an easy (ie. home) install or would it need a Pro?

There's a guy that's done it on VW Vortex, he's running air bags to all 4 corners with on board compressor etc. Should be able to find it easy enough if you do a search.

if looking for lift, the spacers work well, we have had ours in now for at least 15000 kays no probs and jcubed had the min his for 30,000 plus with no sign any issue. Lifts 20mm all around, which is a useful amoutn of lift. From what I can work out that is also within legal limits in NSW.

jcubed provided instructions, could be done if you are confident with some good tools, I ended up paying someone to install, mainly because I didn't have good tools and it was getting a bit above my confidence level, but with good tools and some moral support (ie a mate) I probably would have given it a go.

How cool is that, Captain B! Seriously though, I would like to smooth out those bumps on the 'Via Brisbane' so air suspension would be a real boon if it could be done. A link for the VW Vortex mention is VWVortex.com - Air Suspension
Also Buy 2010 Volkswagen Tiguan Firestone Air Bag Suspension Kit but this is not a full kit by any means
