Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

I have noticed recently the cooling fans continue to run for a few minutes after the Tig is switched off and key removed. It has not always done this from new. Taking into account the slight rise in ambient temperature as summer comes, it still does this on cooler days as well.
I switch off the A/C well before stopping the engine and coolant temp is normal with no signs of overheating.
With the intake manifold being plastic and at the front of the engine, maybe the idea is to cool the manifold.
Engine is a 125 TSI with no modifications. Thanks for any input.

      Hi Captain Bungers,
My computing skills are low but thanks heaps for the link on the cooling fans. Great answers and input. I noticed on your reply that you have a APR stage 1 remap done. This will be done on my Tig after the 15000 k service. We have an APR agent on the central coast who specialises in Porsches but I would prefer a VW specialist to do the remap. Was yours done in the Sydney area?
      Thanks Captain

No worries, sometimes the search is really good and sometimes I still end up sifting through stuff as well...

I got mine done in Canberra - I don't know what VW specialists in Sydney are good unfortunately - maybe have a look at the introductions page for Tig owners in Sydney?

        Cheers, and good luck!

That's why I started the thread http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/foru...rum-65448.html and made it sticky.

Just post your question in there and I'll point you in the right direction. Otherwise the forum get choked with the same threads and it will take forever to find anything.
