Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Air con query...

    Hi All,
Quite warm in Melbourne yesterday, had my air on for the 1st time in 8 or so months. It was low 30's & fairly humid. Anyway, this morning when i climbed, there was a puddle on my drivers side rubber floor mat... Maybe 3/4 of a cup in it!
Any ideas?? ps my bladder is A-ok!..

    Definitely shouldn't be doing that.
The air-con drain tube has probably come loose and is draining onto your floor.

I would definitely get it checked out.
Try to take some photos too.

Definately sounds like a moisture drain issue. It's on top of the hump in the floor, under the dash.

It might not have been fitted correctly, or it's blocked.

        Thanks guys...
It was certainly concerning when i discovered it, i knew i hadn't spilt anything & it's never leaked in rain or anything.
I tried to replicate it again this arvy as it was quite humid again so i cranked the aircon up to try & see where it was coming from, but it was all dry & as it should be, after about half an hour. Might be best to run the air for a bit every once in a while...
Good to know about the drain location, will have a look up in there in the morning, cheers!
