Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    Beat you.
Already posted in the 2012 thread

Not as in depth as the Gen 1 Tiguan videos in the video thread though.

The "Painshop" is a bit worrying
The other VWs in the background I think are Tourans, can't remember them at Wolfsburg. Saw no Golfs in the video either.
Dislike the ungloved find-defect-by-touch in the paintshop, this is not normal. Maybe only for the camera.
      No polyurethane underbody spraying shown
Skips the engine and transmission dressup, engine stuffing and underbody assembly, window insertion door buildup
The wheel nut guy with the cantool is a legend. Though that job is normally automated.
As it goes onto the test rolls, you see the Tig rock side to side as it goes over some bumps to exercise and settle the suspension before headlamp alignment. Simple and clever. I've never seen foglamps aligned before.
TDI tiguan in the drive. ParkAssist, comfort, fogs
Service every 15,000, new fault code every 7,500km

        Which part?

The spelling mistake? Defect detection by touch? Or the female worker (my guess formerly East German) with the 3 o'clock shadow?

East German weightlifter Helga Visskers happily at work lifting engine blocks with her teeth.
