Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Definitely hated the look of the front! Like they're trying to attract Subaru owners or something.

The back looks nicer, if you like the Golf R (with the new tails) and especially at night time!
But somehow they remind me of eyes from a robot out of the original Astroboy series!

End of November if you have one on order now (you may also get a DSG). Apparently the official launch is towards the end of November this year, after which time you can order but not a DSG until mid next year.

We've got caught out as the 132TSI DSG we ordered a few months ago we can get before end of November doesn't have any of the extras we wanted. If we want those we need to get a "Pacific" model in April next year (automatic gearbox) or wait until June next year (DSG).

      • Here is the information I have

The first cars are in the country already although some are yet to clear customs

First cars are on a "fair share" mix determined by VWA. Your dealer has limited or no influence on this and this will be the case until April/May next year. The dealers now know what they are getting and you can call around to see if one is coming in that meets your criteria as there are a mixture of models, colours and options so pick what you want and hit the phones.

Model mix is about 10% 118 TSI m about 6% 103TDI m and about 20% TDI DSG. 7% are 132 m and 44% 132 auto (not sure how many DSG) and 13% are 155 DSG.

If you want Bi-xenon and the LED DRLs you will have to wait until much later as none are in first delivery. If you want the other options, Leather, sunroof, park assist, sat nav you should be able to find one to suit if you do the work

I have been quoted as early as mid October and as late as end November for delivery

It is clear that VWA are withholding further information while the runout of existing stock is on.

This information comes from a number of different discussions with a number of dealers and VWA

        Hope it is useful

        • Why so arrogant VW? Having options that i cant get anyway till next year and not having the options at all that are available overseas for the Tiguan? Should have allowed people to at least pay down a deposit and order the new model a few months ago so the first shipment could have had cars people wanted!
Same with the Touareg when released, no info till very last minute!
Do VW think the are Apple or something and have the Market to themselves?

You should ask your dealer to see if they can do a stock swap to try and get closer to your wants or shop around yourself and if you find one get your deposit back and arrange it yourself. I think they took your order knowing they would have no say in what they get and no way of placing an order until much later so you have a strong case to get your deposit back if they won't try and help you.

I would take one now and try to get as much as what you want as possible. With worldwide demand and delays you could otherwise be waiting even longer than you are bring quoted for an order.

I have one on order and have been told October 22nd.

It is so close last week I was given a test vehicle New Jetta with 62km on the clock to drive till it arrives.

If I get Tiggy early I'll put some pics up.

New Jetta is very nice for the price point a ton of power from the 118TSI engine.

I have also been told the vehicles have already arrived but are in holding.

Great. Look forward to seeing the photos.

I was told by one dealer that the national launch date is October 14 and another one said it is on the following week.

Edit: consensus date for launch is 22 October

                        • I prefer the existing front to the one on the 2012 Tig. If you ask me the design team have come up with a cheaper manufacturing approach, with less chrome to cut costs, and probably a more simplified manufacturing process.

Looks like the price hasn't changed much, pretty sure i paid that amount for my 2010 125TSI manual. But it included comfy pack & was drive-away.
Wonder if they will knock a couple of grand off the auto if DSG unavailable?
Current: MY18 TRANSPORTER CrewVan, Indium Grey
Previous: MY10 Tiguan 2.0TSI, Silver Leaf, APR StgII tune + many mod's

I think the prices are the same. Although they are including things such as; Bluetooth and MDI as standard.
