  • Under the engine in the VW Tiguan 09

Is anyoone else able to see exposed gear teeth when getting under the front of their MY09 Tiguan 103TDI (passenger side of centre by about 10 inches, just pass the end of the plastic guard)??

Yeah, when Alex G made up my bash plate he pointed out the exposed flywheel to me. He was quite surprised VW had left it so exposed too. To me it was just further vindication for going ahead with teh bash plate. At a minimum I would like some sort of grill over the opening to stop sticks and stones potentially being deflected in there and causing problems.

Guess there must be a reason for it though it's hard to think why there couldn't be a screw on cover or similar.

Thanks Guys, nice to know it wasn't something amiss with my car, although I agree it does seem strange

It's not that unusual, this Subaru Liberty I serviced this morning didn't have cover as well.
