The latest is cracks in the brake discs - car gets driven to the shops by the wife, and has only 4K on it. The cracks were aknowledged by the dealer, but they need to send pics to VW before doing anything about it. They said they would contact me. That was over a week ago, surely its a safety issue and should be addressed promptly one would think.....
Hope you get it all sorted in the end.
The warranty on the brakes discs and pads is 20,000km unless they've changed it, so it should be replaced. It's sad really when VW doesn't trust their mechanics in situations like these, surely the mechanic is qualified enough to make that decision, isn't he?
Well I managed to get tig in to Wally World today....
As I pulled in to the last set of lights near the dealership, it started doing its rough idleing trick -- Thankfully! so they could witness it. The orange engine light also flashed eratically...so I hope they can isolate the error codes and sort it out.
So once again in just two weeks, I am without my car. (they did kindly provide a new passat to drive though)
When I left it, Tigger was sitting in the wallyworld holding yard waiting for some (hopefully thorough) trained technician to sort it out.
All will be covered under warranty of course...except all of my lost time....
But It makes me really worry about what will happen when the warranty runs out....??!!
I am liking Skoda's Unlimited KM warranty offer much better... ( have done 75,000 kms in under two years....so 100,000kms is not far off. )
2018 Ralyee Green RS wagon. Fully optioned.
Previous vehicles:2015 Volvo V60 Polestar (my one detour from VW/Skoda!)
2013 Platin grey RS wagon / 2012 White Polo GTI / 2009 Black 125 Tiguan
Hmmm...I will have to see the Yeti in the 'flesh' so to speak...not sure from the pictures.
No, I am thinking of the Octavia RS wagon with diesel and DSG.... (a complete change from what I presently have!)
But I do love my Tig....I was hoping for a long happy life with it....and I probably still can...when these minor annoying things are fixed correctly by the dealership.
VW has a great product that seems to be let down by the dealerships!

This sort of thing just confimes for me why I'm so thankful I kept my Forester and didn't downgrade to a Tiguan.
Really and truely, you've got to be kidding me when you make statements like this . Look on ANY car forums and you'll find as many problems and issues as you do here (a lot more on some). But for example:
Subaru turbos in recall - www.drive.com.au
(talk about poor quality control - "The all-new Forester XT was pulled from showrooms earlier this year just weeks after its Australian launch when some owners noticed a knocking sound coming from the engine. The problem was later identified as "abnormal wear" on the con-rod big-end bearings." -- WTF?!)
I have to agree with Clip!!, Your vee dub is not something special and at times things will happen to any motor vehicle and this should
not reflect badly on an otherwise good product. I feel that your right in complaining about having to go back to the same dealership to
have something fixed again which by all means should have been properly diagnosed and rectified first time.
Also noticed you having to replace a fuel seal when you went in for an oil leak seems odd to me????
I'd try another dealership i've heard through a lot of friends that Chatswood are very good maybe worth the extra trip if your not
satisfied at Loserworld.
Yeh, the one shouldn't live in the past. That's why I bought the Tig and not the Forester. Haven’t said that.... Subaru Legacy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Not many car makers done that for the obvious reasons,
...great cars too and reliability across the Subaru range of the cars in long term is something what many car manufacturers could be jealous.
They now are waiting for "more parts" to arrive including seals and things for the pcp??? valve?
Does that mean anything?
Apparantly that has to do with the rough idling issue, and that this valve thingy sucked oil inside etc and caused the second lot of leaks???
So after yet another week...(makes over three in total) the oil leak issue continues.
Still, at least that is approx 2-3 thousand kms I am not putting on my Tig...(they have provided me with a loan Passat at least)

That's an awful thing to say. It's the cruelty against the cars!
...and it carries 10 point infraction! I suggest that you read the forum rules - Rules of the Forum .

VW also has unlimited km warranty. I think it was introduced for 2011 model cars but am not 100% sure. It doesn't really help you for your current car though.
