  • Higher / raised tow hitch ?

Hi , I was wondering if anyone knows if you can get a aftermarket towing tongue that fits into the Tiguan Original Vertical hitch mount , that increases the height of the towball by about 75mm ?
I enquired a while back with VW but they only had the one sized hitch .
One of the trailers I use is a tandem axle box trailer with slipper springs (not wt sharing) and to hitch this trailer on i have to push the coupling down onto the towball (almost lifting the back wheels) , and of course instead of having a positive drawbar weight I have a Negative one , which is not good.
almost all of my trailers are setup for a higher towball height .
So has anyone come across a higher hitch that will fit into the vertical receiver ?
    Thanks.

Someone could probably make you one, but it may no longer be ADR compliant. The ball needs to fall within a certain distance and height from the rear axle line to meet ADRs.

Lower profile ( same width ) tyres on the trailer should bring it down a bit.

and if you go for jcubed's spacers as I and Transporter have done, you will increase ride height by 20mm, therefore lifting your tow ball. Larger diam tyres would also net you another 10mm safely (some have already done no probs), more if you are adventurous. Well worth doing if you'd like the extra clearance, but may be easier options if your motivation is soley for the trailers
