  • Fantastic depreciation

Thought this would be of interest. Realise I'm in NZ but it tends to confirm what's happening in Europe as well (the Tiguan there has just taken over from the Mini as having the lowest depreciation from new).

I've had my Tig 3 years and have decided to keep it (intending to get an extended warranty). My insurance company (normal insurance, not warranty) asked me to get a dealers retail value for my Tig and it's $45,000 after paying $62,000 3 years ago !!

Now mine's particularly good as I've got a relatively rare model in the track and field with leather etc and I have very low mileage at just over 20Ks but still, that's pretty impressive depreciation: 27.4% for 3 years or a fraction over 10% a year !!

So, as well as still being happy as with my Tig, it's holding its value as well, winner all round.

    Cheers

Here in NZ we're allowed to claim 20% or 25% (can't remember which) per annum depreciation on business vehicles so that makes this look pretty good. My last new vehicle (Kia Sorento) depreciated 45% in 3 years and that was considered extremely good.

      Cheers
