Mudguards on Tig

Hi all, as the thread suggests I have a question about mudguards.

When I ordered my Tig through the dealer, I opted for mudguards. I know some people think they are daggy and detract from the look of the vehicle but I had them on my previous vehicle and liked them.

After searching the internet and through VWC I couldn't find any pictures of what the mudguards on the Tig look like. Can anyone assist with this? I am particularly interested in mudguards on a pepper grey Tig. Thanks in advance and sorry if this should be merged with another thread, I couldn't find an appropriate spot.

IMO, they're not daggy at all and barely noticeable and blends in with the rest of the unpainted trim!

So should look more invisible on a pepper grey!

More importantly they do a good job keeping the mud/crap away from the side skirts & back lower bumper.

Unfortunately had to lose my front ones, as a result of installing side steps.

Thanks for that. I've always been a fan of mudguards but it's hard to order something that the dealer can't even show you a picture of and be confident in them.

We went the pepper grey over night blue partly because the mudguards will blend better. Thanks again aussietig.

Thanks Ultra. The mudguards are so hard to see. I suppose it reinforces there low profile on the vehicles look.

Anybody else have any? Everyone's efforts have been very much appreciated. Thanks again.

Not hard ... just a couple of screws!

If they're originals then they should come with instructions.

Have asked the store and it's not OEM, but they seem to be heaps cheaper but having it say "some minior drilling required" scares me off a little....

You might just find the colour of the plastic may not match OEM or existing plastics on the Tig as well.

That would be the major turn off, if it was for me.

Unfortunately only discovered VAGLINK during my 5 month wait for my Tig. So no!

Had I known ... would have ticked a few less boxes at the time!


Whilst on the topic, I would highly recommend people buy their spare parts from this UK dealer:

Unfortunately broke off the spray jet nozzle, off my rear wiper by accident:




Dropped into Barloworld for this replacement part and their system said $27.00 for it.

Asked for the part number and walked out!

Logged onto UK dealer website and here's the price they charge £4.97:

Fcuking unbelievable this mob's markup for essentially a small bit of plastic the size of a cotton bud tip!

I should point out (if not enough already on this forum) that VAGLINK are based in HK and sell genuine VW parts ... but manufactured in China for VW China.

However if you have concerns about that origin, then source your genuine VW parts from the UK dealer, using their Shop4volkswagen website for a fraction of what it costs here (and paying the non-VAT prices).

I think the two examples provided above (mud guards and sprayer jet) from both sources, speak for themselves!
