  • Tiguan Rear Number Plate Panel

I am soon to receive my Tig and have just received the LAKIN plate brackets (see here) Custom number plate brackets for VolksWagen Tiguan 2008 - . Just wanting to confirm that the Tig has 2 threaded holes that accept a plate or plate bracket. The only picture that I have found is the one in the above link.

Also if the holes are threaded are they plastic or metal?

And is the panel flat or slightly curved?

I am impressed with the quality of the plate brackets and plate covers. They should look great on the Tig.

From memory, no pre-drill holes whatsoever on front & back. Especially if mounting Euro plates.

Dealer even asked where do I want the holes drilled on both plates and bumpers.

Front is definitely very curved! Back not flush either, but not as bad.

Would suggest to anyone mounting Euros, to use the standard fugly yellow plates as the template to drill and choose the furthest holes in the top corners.

      Hi tigtsi,
I've just mounted standard Qld plates on my 2011 103 DSG. There are 2 mounting holes on the rear with nylon bushes inside, used 10Gx50 screws. I drilled 4x2 mm holes in the front plastic bumper and mounted with 10Gx12 screws plus Locktite. No brackets or frames used.
