2012 tiguan interior/exterior details now available
Go to the volkswagon officialwebsite in Germany, they have just changed to the new facelift and you can build your car with exterior colour, interior trim etc on the site...If you struggle with the language cut and paste the words into freetranslation.com and that will help.. I am so happy I can now see the car I have ordered.....

I have downloaded the pdf brochures from the German site and trying to translate.. I noticed two different 125tsi variants.. off-road and city, will they be same when launched here in Oz or with different options?Comment

Offering the top spec version only now and killing off the 3 door Golf R in the process.
AFAIK, relatively same price as 3 door Golf R, but only get FWD.
Don't know why they just don't give people the freedom of choice here!
VGA's excuse has always been the Scirocco will cannibalise sales of the Golfs ... so we will drop the 3 door Golf R (to prove we're right).
But why don't you at least try for a couple months first, before jumping to that conclusion?
Some in the market for a high performance 3 door may well appeal to the sleeper look of a Golf R!
Stop trying to appeal to those tossing up buying Renaults or Peugeots for their goofy looks.
No expert here, but if you're trying to grow your brand and market share locally, then shouldn't you offer as many models and variants as possible, to boost your presence?

According to my father who was in the business working for a Euro car manufacturer (many years ago now though), it's got more to do with our ADR than anything else.
VAG puts nearly all their models/varients into NZ and other smaller markets than ours. It's the cost of the exercise to get them ADR'd that may be the issue.

Having worked for local car manufacturers for 15 years, I can say you're right....sort of.
ADR compliance is a significant cost, Track and Field Tiguan will take sales from regular Tiguan.
However frustrating, VWA is very tight and focussed about bringing in models, options and colours.
