Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Bad problem, please help

Had my Tig diesel for 2 years, love it and never had a problem.

Today had a really annoying problem. Got back to the Tig, opened the door and I could hear a really loud static noise. Opened the back door and it seems to be coming out of both rear speakers, this is without the key in the ignition.

Drove home about 12 km and it was going all the way, even the radio couldn't drown it out.

When I got home, turned the engine off, opened the door, but stayed in the car, closed the door locked everything, and waited til the dash ligths went off. Noise still happening.

Left the car in the garage, could still hear it going.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated. I can only assume it's draining some power so will soon or later drain the battery.

Not sure if the VW roadside assist will have any ideas if I cal them??

    thanks

    S

someone else had that same problem about a year ago. Can't remeber who and not sure what it was, but they got it fixed at dealer. Not much help sorry, but you're not the first - if that's any consolation. Maybe do a search, you might pick up the thread.
