RNS510 - MY11 147 Tiguan (Coding Help)

Hi all,

Well I finally recieved my RNS510 today and installed it tonight.

Seems to be working ok except for a couple of stubborn VCDS errors and no NAv in MFD.

Can only one help with fixing up any of these codes? I have attempted clearing them all however these ones keep reappearing.

Can anyone witha working RNS510 in a MY11 Tig please share their coding?

Any help would be great!

I have the same stubborn VCDS errors. So you're not alone there and car doesn't blow up.

So I'll only probably help address your no NAV in MFD problem.

Take whatever you need from it as we have the same car and my RNS510 works fine with steering wheel and MFD!

NOTE 1: Just be careful with my Steering Wheel Module! It's coded for flappy paddle steering wheel.

NOTE 2: Unfortunately I don't have bluetooth however.

All the fault codes were being caused by the bit "Enable Microphone Diagnostics" under Navigation (47)

The problem with the MFD was that the CAN gateway was not enabled for "Navigation".

Because it is a new version of the CAN gateway, you have to enable Navigation using the "Install Checklist" option in VCDS.

I can bring up the prompt but no matter how hard I yell, no dice.... Microphone works fine for BT/Phone stuff... Perhaps more coding is required or a second mic is required?

Sorry can't help you here. I don't have BT or mic.

But might just be something simple in the setup and explained in the RNS510 manual.
In other words, not coding problem.

Superviza where'd you grab your RNS510 from? I'm thinking this remanufactured one from the UK for $799 looks the business:

Did you do the install, found this video, looks pretty straightforward? Did you have any problems getting it in?

Hey tone,

Yep, that unit looks the goods! It's not the LED version (hence the cheaper price-no huge difference) but it says it is VIM activated which is a plus! (can watch DVD while going faster than 10km/h).

I did the install myself and had to do some VCDS coding to get the MFD to display the Nav screen in the instrument panel.

That YouTube video is the same video I used as reference. It really is quite easy. Just make sure yo have a set of pry tools to ensure you don't scratch anything (I got my set for $25 from Jaycar)

Excellent, I a) had no idea what VIM was and b) didn't noticed that there were LED versions available. I'll definitely sing out if I have problems with the coding, which I no doubt will... Putting an order in tonight so will report back when my Tig makes it ouf its shipping container.
