In the Tigs manual it states you can activate daytime headlights, i assume similar to the golf, however i've followed the directions and have had no luck.
Anyone else have any success?

as for car manuals, they are likely to be common print (not just for aust market) meaning they contain instructions on features there are not common for tiguans exported to particular regions of the world. (read as : marketing savings on print)

AFAIK, the manual method can only be done if you have non-xenon headlights. Doesn't work on cars with xenons (which require VCDS coding)!
Did you get a chime sound?
If not, then you didn't execute it properly.
Headlight switch needs to be set to '0' position and not on 'parks' or 'auto', before attempting.
Give that a go, if still doesn't work then must be done via VCDS also.
Fogs only as DRL NOTE: Need to manually change type in the second last digit from '0' to '1' in the Binary code, as Bit 1 within Byte 14 is not available or visible.
NOTE: This will also activate your parkers as DRLs.
Fogs as cornering lights NOTE: Need to tick box at Bit 7
Enabling beep sound when locking doors with remote NOTE: Need to have purchased factory alarm
NOTE: You can also enable beep sound when unlocking doors @ Bit 4.
But it's a pointless function IMO, since you tend not to forget to unlock the car.
That's a bummer, but thanks for the screen shots on how to activate them.
While we are on the topic of VCDS, any idea if you can activate the dipping passenger exterior mirror for reversing via VCDS? i find it a great feature on the Golf.

Theoretically can't see why not! Haven't tried it myself.
But if you go back to my original post:
I should clarify that Fogs Only as DRL actually also includes the Parkers as well.
Now remember, I manually typed in the second last digit a '1' instead of '0' (which is equivalent to ticking the box for Bit 1, if there was one).
As Bit 0 is the last digit in the Binary code when reading it from right to left.
In other words, Bit 1 within Byte 14 is what activates Fogs & Parkers Only as DRL.
Logic would suggest that you leave that on, but then somehow disable the fogs.
From memory (sorry no pics), Byte 15 has some options to operate DRL via separate lights.
I would suggest that that's the area where you start playing around in, by ticking or unticking within that Byte, to try and subsequently take out the fogs.
Cause if you haven't noticed already, the list of options (Bytes & Bits) within Module 9 is quite impressive, in terms of being right across the screen and off the page. Definitely puts Johnny Holmes in his place!
Anyhow see how that goes!
Worse case scenario
Unticking Bit 0 and manually typing in '1' at Bit 1 via the Binary code (within Byte 14) will get you your Parkers as DRL Only!
But that's because you've just downgraded your Tig with no fogs installed.
NOTE: Within Byte 14, there are more Bits hidden apart from Bit 1 that possibly may be ticked (as indicated by the zeros (0) in the Binary code). But not sure what they're there for.

There are rips off available on eBay which may or may not work with the original Ross-Tech software (depending if they are good quality rip-offs or outright fakes).
