  • Trouble finding rubber floor mats for my Tig

My dealer seems only to have the fabric mats, but I want front rubber floor mats to go in my Tig (rear mats from my old Forester fitted perfectly).

Can't find em anywhere - carmats4u has been out of stock for a couple of weeks and aren't replying to email, and Ebay has none (in Australia).

Any suggestions greatly appreciated. I do a fair bit of country driving and i want to protect the carpets.

Your dealer can't order them in? Seems strange as all VW dealers have access to the same inventory applications...

    Try another dealer?

I noticed that drivergear.vw has the euro front rubber mats in stock for usd $50.27 a pair or thereabouts.they are based in the u.s.but with the aussie dollar so strong at the moment that's the way I wud be going.
The address is www.drivergear.vw.com.You wud probably have them out here in about a weeks time from ordering.

Alternatively, buy direct from this UK dealer online (shop4volkswagen).

They have both the front & the back:

Volkswagen Rubber Floor Mats - 5N0061511041

Volkswagen Rubber Floor Mats - 5N2061501041

Starting to sound like a broken record Transporter, but anyway ... non-residents don't pay any VAT for purchases in the UK (including online).

So that's an instant 20% discount off the UK RRP (which are already cheaper than Australia)!

But just need to see if shipping quoted still makes it economical or not!

Which just comes down to the weight of your shopping cart!

Got my rubber floor mats and boot liner for my Passat from shop4volkswagen and it was $150 cheaper (shipped) than what the local dealer quoted me.

          Never buy from local dealer

I ended up ordering my Tiguan with carpet floor mats, is rubber better, or what are the pros and cons?

              Are they the same price?

My car came with factory carpet mats but I'll take the rubber ones any day. Much more practical especially on rainy days, so easy to clean. Cons? Some people don't like rubber :-P

Hey, I don't know about price bit they are really easy to clean (to the point that they look new again). I reckon they look really good, but that is my opinion...

                  They are excellent for kiddies

We bought the front rubber mats from the dealer in Adelaide a few weeks ago - $80 and they look and fit great. Took 2 days to get them in.

I have carpet mats supplied at time of purchase, but would like to get good fitting dish mats to use when launching boat etc - anyone seen any to fit Tiguan

Thanks for the replies chaps - the UK option would cost $AUD123 for just the front mats (55 squids postage!), so a local dealer ought to still be substantially cheaper if I can't find them elsewhere.

When I called spares they had the fabric mats but didn't seem interested in sourcing the rubber ones. I'll try them again.

Yeah that's about right, but the dealer quoted me $150 for the fronts only.

I found it cheaper when I ordered a few things together, I got the front mat, rear mats and the boot liner for $204 which would cost $410 from the dealer here.

AFAIK, UK shipping skyrockets if item exceeds normal dimensions for air mail.

So apart from weight, it all comes down to how well it is packed and whether it'll fit within the standard dimensions/box.

                            What's my point?
Just wonder if that quote is based on shipping them in original packaging and unwrapped.
Might make a difference if they roll it up. Should be okay since it's rubber!

                              Smith,
I just got the invoice out from Solitaires in Adelaide to confirm what I said before - 24th Feb - Tiguan front rubber mats P/N 5N2061501041 cost me $72.65 plus GST. AFAIK this was their normal price - no discounts that I was aware of, and they ordered them in.
