Do the DSG Tiguans have Launch control ?

It does mate - the 2,000 RPM is the limit on the Diesal as the torque kicks in much earlier than the petrol engine

No problem mate
Just remember to ensure Auto Hold and TCS are turned off and you use either S mode or Tiptronic shifting (as it wont work in D). Left foot brake, right right accelerate to 2,000 RPM for a few seconds and let the foot off the break in one quick motion when ready - takes about 3/10's of a sec (big guess) and it should kick off
Then just try flooring it from a full stop with TCS on and see how much of a difference there is - the delay should be a lot longer
NB: If the Tig is trying to pull away while your foot is on the break and you are revving at 2,000 RPM then its not functioning (for what ever reason)
The car should feel like its in N revving steadily, easily at brake and then the DSG will kick in as it gear changes into first once you release the brake
Good luck
EDIT: oh and remember that the diesal is a few seconds slower to 100K's than the petrol's, so the launch may not feel as 'hard'...Last edited by Vince_S; 21-03-2011, 07:23 PM.2011 Tiguan | 125TSI (5N) | Deep Black | DSG (7-speed) | Launch Control | 4Mo | Fog | Comfort | Bluetooth | MDI (USB + iPod) | Roof Bars | Rear Sensors | Floor Mats | First Aid Kit

I tried again today and whilst it did work as described I heard an almight clunk from the rear end! With that I don't think I'll be using it again!
So to answer the question; yes, the diesel dsg does seem to have launch control, although I don't think the possible damage is worth the (very small in my case) extra oomph!

Thats great to hear Chrismacca - thank you for testing it out on the TDI to confirm it for our Tig CommunityOriginally posted by Chrismacca View Postwhilst it did work as described I heard an almight clunk from the rear end! With that I don't think I'll be using it again!!
That clunking noise, dont worry about it. As quoted:
It's all part of the processOriginally posted by aussietig View PostI think I heard Tilly's hymen break
Seriously though, while mine 'launched' off as it kicked into ger, I didn't hear any clunking noises. The car was warm at the time though. You didn't try it from a cold start did you?2011 Tiguan | 125TSI (5N) | Deep Black | DSG (7-speed) | Launch Control | 4Mo | Fog | Comfort | Bluetooth | MDI (USB + iPod) | Roof Bars | Rear Sensors | Floor Mats | First Aid Kit

No Vince, not from cold but perhaps not fully warmed. I've recently had another crack and made sure it was fully warm; worked a treat and with no discernible clunk/bang this time. Although I must say it didn't seem THAT much different from a rapid launch without the launch control....Originally posted by Vince_S View PostThats great to hear Chrismacca - thank you for testing it out on the TDI to confirm it for our Tig Community

Tried this last weekend and I also heard a mighty bump, did I Rev the engine it too high. The tig certainly has lots of torque, shoved me back into the seat and freaked my wife out

I hear you team_v. Pooling the funds seems to take forever when you have baby on the way

You just need to ask yourself what is more important.Originally posted by 99Reza View PostI hear you team_v. Pooling the funds seems to take forever when you have baby on the way
Some kid's wellbeing or your own immature and selfish desire to be a petrol head
The answer should be a resounding petrol head haha.
