  • Seat Covers - Tiguan

Has anyone got any advice\thoughts on good seats covers for the Tiguan? Super Cheap just isn't doing it for me.

Sheep skin is a preference but the quality at auto stores just isn't there.

Congrats on the new Tig mate.

In response to your query Tigga1 posted this in a previous thread - not sure how current it is but he did a lot of research and went with:

    Prestige Sheepskin & Lambswool Products

    Prestige Sheepskin oz)

Link to thread is here: http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/f97/...uan-23258.html

Think they custom made it and even catered for the side air bags

Good luck and let us know how you go

Thanks for that - I should have searched the forums for similar questions. Still getting used to them.

the Ilana that are listed on eBay are well priced and fit perfectly. if you are interested in a set of front covers only i purchased a set of the Ilana for our 147 and only used the rears to cover the seat for the hound- you can have them the fronts for $50 posted.

Thats not a bad offer, but just to clarify, aren't the 147 front seats different to the 125 (i.e. Sports vs Standard)? Would it make a difference to the seat cover fit?

Just make sure they allow for the airbags

yes, if you read the packaging they say they are not suitable for the 147- because of the picnic table on the back, otherwise seats are identical.
as far as the side air bags go the Ilana are specifically designed- check their website- for side airbags, quite sophisticated actually.

                Seat Covers -Tiguan

                Hi All,

I have recently purchased a 2009 Tiggy 125 tsi. I've just received my car seat covers from Ilana on ebay, but I'm having trouble installing the rear covers due to the 40/60 split. The instructions advise me to unbolt and remove seats - but is there a way that I can install the seat covers without removing the seats, and won't void my warranty?

The rear seat covers are particularly important as I dont want white dog hair to go all through my seats!

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

                Cheers and thanks,
                Stef

You have to do it properly, otherwise they won't fit properly. I don't think you have to worry about voiding your warranty, unless you need to put a claim in about a broken rear seat

You could try sliding the bench seats forward in order to get access to the underneath area from the boot.

We installed our Ilana custom rear covers on the weekend and the hardest part was sorting out how the centre console part worked. They fitted beautifully in the end. We just did the stuff and tuck, there was no way we could use the various ties to hold it all together so we tidied them away. We have kids car seats and a baby capsule base on ours permanently so the covers won't be moving.
