Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • WooHoo - I take delivery of my MY11 125TSI tomorrow!

    Hi all,
definitely won't be able to sleep tonight! I'm taking delivery of my new Tiggy tomorrow! I've tracked every bit of its journey from Bremerhaven to Newcastle, and finally the wait is over!
I've checked the list on "things to look out for when taking delivery", but there's one more question I'd like to ask: for a brand-new off the ship Tiggy, how many km should be on the clock? What would be acceptable/unacceptable?

Will post photos of my new pride & joy soon (if I can get out of it for long enough to take a photo!). Heck, I'll probably SLEEP in it (well maybe that's a bit over the top!)

    regards,
    John.

Congrats!! You'll love the car for sure.

When I picked mine up, it has about 16km on the clock.

Edit to the title of this thread: WooHoo: I took delivery of my MY11 125TSI yesterday!!!
What a fine machine! I really can't explain how I feel about it, but I probably don't need to, as most of the members on this forum probably feel the same! Exhilarated probably comes close!

By the way, I had 19km on the odo at handover... I'm happy with that!

            Hi Vince_S, all,
it hasn't just met them, it has exceeded them! What an awesome piece of engineering! Never mind the power plant, the 7 speed DSG, the superb handling - just the thought that has gone into building this car is astounding! So many features in such a superb package...

Do you know where yours is (marinetraffic.com)? Shouldn't be long now if ETA is mid March! I was tempted to go and watch the ship which mine arrived on sail into Pt Kembla, but it was a weekday and a bit far from Newcastle...

Hang in there, you'll love it!

I do, have been watching it the past few days

It left Melbourne and is on its way to Port Kembla now - so only a few more days I think
                  .

I could go watch it but knowing its right there out of arms reach would kill me lol

Happy to wait for it to get to the dealer

Delivery km is 10-20km. Up to 50km is acceptable on the clock if they take the car for a QC run (maybe 1 in 50 cars). Above that they disconnect the odometer
TDI tiguan in the drive. ParkAssist, comfort, fogs
Service every 15,000, new fault code every 7,500km
