  • What are our chances of sourcing a new 125TSI from Sydney dealers at the moment?

G'day all - first post, but I've enjoyed reading through the threads on the forum.

My wife and I are replacing our MY01 Forester and are very keen on a Tiguan (125TSI auto/DSG). We are test-driving one this weekend and if we like it (and everything we've seen so far suggests we will), we would be pulling the trigger straight away (we don't want to wait until September/November for a car).

I've seen the ads in the paper and on the website about the Tiguan Drive Away Deal, so how realistic would it be for us to find a car in stock to our specs at the moment?

We don't care about colour and the only options we would be looking for would be a towbar and the comfort pack.

Thanks in advance for replies and advice!

If you don't care about colour and you are after dealer accessories, you should find one easily. It depends on whatever stock VW has. I am about to order a white 147 my dealer has set aside. Good luck!

I know there is currently a 125TSI with DSG and Comfort Pack sitting in the yard at Nepean Motor Group in Penrith.
Seems like it might be what you are looking for.
Candy White Scirocco R DSG with Panoramic Sunroof and RNS510 Sat Nav, tint
Cup Rear Spoiler, VMR V718 GM rims, APR Tuned, Brembo 6 pot BBK, Eibach Pro-Kit springs, Low line RVC, Exhaust flap delete

Well, we went to our local dealer (Sutherland) and drove the 125TSI - lovely, lovely car. Here's what we've been offered:

Both cars with comfort pack and towbar (that's all the options we are interested in) and with DSG:

        White - $39,317
        Blue - $40,117

I'm going to ring a few dealers tomorrow and see if I can better those prices and we'll pull the trigger tomorrow.

Interesting to compare with the new Forester XS MY11 - $40,821 for the auto and would go no lower. But the Forester was noisy, rattly and harsh feeling - very disappointed and we are speaking as satisfied 10-year Forester owners.
