Jimbo, i have tried to take some nice looking pics of those, but as with the matte black alloys, look fantastic in 'real life', but quite difficult to photograph... I'll get the ones i have that have come out best in the Tiggy pic thread sticky, asap!~

ps, started cutting yet, CB? Just remember, no matter what, you'll be be heaps more carefuller than any other 'expert'!

And this is why it will pan out OK.

You only have to see one hacked installation of any kind - cutting the rear bumper to install a towbar on a Freelander 2, springs to mind - to know that you are going to do yours all by yourself, regardless of how long it takes. It took me a full week - nay, 8 days! - to install the electrical connection for the towbar. Neat job though, even though I have to say so myself .

Just follow this simple rule: Measure twice (or thrice), cut ONCE.

            Hang in there, mate!

Ok, I got the b*stard installed. I have a few little torx screws to put in. I may get some crappy night shots up later. I had to cut more than I had hoped, it seems that there are a few differences between the test bar and mine. It ended up pretty neat in the end...

I am really tired! I knew it would be difficult, but I didn't realise what a bitch it really would be in the end. I hope to post a few bits of info regarding some of the difficulties later.

Alright! I'm a little more enthusiastic now... Here are the pics of Tig:

I apologise for not cleaning the car. I figured I had spent enough time (around 6 hours) fitting the bar. Wife not happy.

Some of the bits were quite difficult in the end, for example I ended up having to cut two hand sized chunks out of the lower air dam (it sits below the radiator) instead of the neat little slots suggested by ECB. The bolts that hold the nudge to the support brace are almost impossible to reach, let alone tighten. I have very long, thin arms and so it was barely possible. I would hate to see someone with actual muscles and average length arms try to do it...

I'm very happy with the end result

                      Thanks!

I reckon there has to be another way - maybe a long extender on a ratchet or something. There may be a way from underneath, I just couldn't figure it out for the life of me. i am really sore today, I think I sat in the Bhudda position for most of the day. The whole assembly is quite substantial in weight. I keep meaning to measure my ride height on the front end...

Whatever you buy make sure it is an AIRBAG compliant bar.

Had probs with my Cruiser as someone wanted to sell me a non airbag bar when vehicle had airbags.

Would have voided insurance by fitting it.

Beware custom bars that arent certified as Airbag compliant. They should have a sticker saying the comply with a Standard.

We had the ECB Nudge Bar 63mm Series 2 fitted for a trip to the Flinders Ranges.
                          Very happy with the job.
This model is higher and protects the radiator a little more.
It was a very good decision. We hit a medium sized roo and the nudge bar did its job.
We couldn't see what happened to the roo, but the Tig survived without any evidence of the hit at all.
Bit brutal, but that's why we had it fitted.
The pic below says "Rock Wallaby" - we travelled specifically to see the Yellow-footed rock wallaby.
We are not aiming to hit wildlife - ever.

                              That my only pic.
All the details including videos are on the ECB site.

                              It was about $800 fitted

                              Cheers,
