Sept '11 wait for a 2011 tiguan 103tdi 7 spd 4 motion?

Dear all, I am trying to purchase a new 2011 tiguan 103 tdi 7 spd auto. Originally requesting white, but apparently there are no cars in any colour and I have to wait until Sept 2011!
Os this true?
Who would wait until 2011 when apparently the 2012 model will be available early 2012 and possibly in a new design???
Do I need to downsize my driving experience to an X1 20d?

It has been reported that VW is presently taking orders for the facelifted Tiguan because the current model has sold out in Europe. Perhaps that may explain the long wait.

How many dealers have you tried? I reckon it is worth getting on to Google and calling around vw dealers in Aus - I suppose that depends what model you want.

There were at least a dozen Tigs driving down George St, during the CNY night parade last week.

I would call the other dealers, as you may be able to snap up one with the specs you want that were ordered for stock.

I was advised by my dealer that if I put in an order for one to be built, it would be a minimum 5 month wait for delivery. Keep in mind the Polo build quota is now full and if you order one today it woud not hit production until January 2012!

I too looked at the X1 and that was as far as it got. I am interested to see the Mini 4x4 when it gets released at the end of this month though.

AS mentioned above the current Tiguan's are sold out and dealers are taking orders for the new facelifted model...

I have been given a delivery date of October for the new Tiguan, that is when the first shipment will land in Australia....

The Dealer called me yesterday and advised that our ordered TDI Tiguan expected to arrive in May, can now not be supplied as the current model production run has fully sold out at the Wolfsburg factory. We now have to wait until September to receive it, and it will be the mid-model update which we are happy about (liked the current model as well, however) - just not looking forward to such a long wait!

Just wondering which dealer told you that, as I have spoken to the local guys and they have told me that the new model is to be released in November, and currently they are unsure as to when they can place orders? I am looking buy one, but can't really wait till November.

my Dealer is already taking pre orders for the new face lifted model...

we also ordered a current 103TDI DSG and was told 1 week after signing the contract that the current model is finished.
but got offered the new facelifted model for the same price...

downside is ETA is October to November 2011......

Bugger. Wonder where that leaves me. Ordered in December and was expecting April delivery..but at last check still didn't have a build date...will call dealer tomorrow I think

I dont know if this will help you,but Barbagello Volkswagen in Mandurah w.a. had a white tdi dsg[demo] which I had a drive of a couple of weeks ago.Had only about 700klms on the clock.It had comfort pack, headlight covers and mudflaps front and rear.Did drive nicely.They wanted about $45000 for it[with towbar fitted] which was more than I was prepared to pay.I eventually located a brand new 2010 white dsg which I have now taken delivery of.Got it for $39800 which was a good deal imo.You could give them a call,just look up Barbagello on the web.The bloke I was dealing with was called Kerman.If that helps.I cant confirm if they still have the vehicle though!

The dealer we've ordered thru is James Frizelles Auto Group. located at Lismore, NSW. You'd think any dealer would be willing to place an order for you - maybe they aren't sure re expected delivery times.

It is interesting that a dealer is taking orders for vehicles when the specifications haven't been released for the Australian market.

We wanted a diesel version, but with limited stock and long waiting lists, we pick up a white 125tsi next week.
