  • Comfort pack convenience settings

Anyone know whether whether some of the convenience settings with the comfort pack such as lighting options etc, can be done aftermarket for a Tig without comfort pack? Seems a possibility at least thru vagcom or the like, but no idea. Obviously couldn't get things like the rain sensing wipers and dual zone air con without some additional hardware, but some of the convenient may be just a tweak thru vagcom or the like?

Anyway be interested if anyone has checked out or has any ideas

I don't think you can, since you need a control module for the auto wipers and headlights. But you should be able to buy a control module, expect to pay more than you would if ordered when you were buying a car.

Transporter, yeah understand issues re wipers etc, my interest is just in some of the convenience features for lighting etc you have thru MFD with the comfort pack (and dont have without it), thought might be possible to enable some of those without the need for anything new

        Hey jimbomort,

What sort of things do you mean? I thought the comfort pack was only for things that alslo required hardware such as the auto wipers, rear view camera dimmer and climate control etc..?

Not sure what else is different?

The best is if you take it to someone with VCDS and just look at Address 46: Central Conv. coding, and see what features could be ticked.

Transporter, thanks will check that out next time I am with somone with vagcomm (sorry assuming if they have vagcomm they have vcds?)

Tigger - I'd have to look at the manual to be really specific (and I'm away on a work trip at present), but having looked previously I remember there were some useful convenience settings for when you get home etc in the night such as headlights staying on for a short bit etc after you turn the car off. Remember thinking oh thats great.....and then being disappointed when I realised these convenience settings were only if you had the comfort pack. Seems to me those things are probably just enabling some coding or the like.
