    Tiguan unlocking question
Hi all, can you please assist me with an answer to the following question(s):

    My Tiguan is currently set up on Auto Lock mode to have doors lock at 15kph, however it also requires multiple pushes of the unlock button on the key fob to open the doors;

    e.g.

1 press = drivers door unlock
2 presses = both front doors unlock
3 presses = front & rear doors unlock
4 presses = rear tail gate unlocks

I understand that the Multi Function Display (MFD) allows changes under the <Convenience> <Door Opening> option, can anyone assist with actual otpion to pick that still allows the Auto Lock function to work (a great security device in a big city) and a 2 press function to unlock all 5 doors.

not sure about the auto lock function still on as i dont use this in mine.... but pretty sure you select "all doors" option and this will open all doors at the press of the remote.
if you want to open the windows and sunroof or close sunroof and windows using the remote you will need vagcom to set it - unless yours is already set for you.

not sure of any difference in models, ours is 09. Ours has auto lock set, so locks at 15, but one click of the remote unlocks all! Holding down the unlock button for a few seconds winds all the windows down, which seems standard on a few VWs now- the Golf 6 does the same as our Tig. I'd just go in their and have a play. Do you have comfort pack, that may make a difference, we dont have that.

      hope this helps

mine is 2010 model... i had to use vagcom to set the remote open/close of windows function. the MFD has the control option to unlock all the doors with one click or only open the drivers door and then open all with the second click.

          ok just checked mine...
in the convenience menu select door opening menu
          then select "manual"
          choose "all doors"
          then exit to previous menu
          choose "auto"
then make sure the checkbox is selected.
this should allow all doors to open with one click on the remote yet still allow auto locking when you drive off.
          hth
if you choose "one door" you will need to press the remote twice to open all doors.

I have exactly the setup you're talking about.

However, in my convenience menu / door opening menu
it's set on "manual" and then on "single door"

See if this works for you, if the other suggestions don't.

in MY11 Tig - if you hold down the remote unlock/lock will also wind down/up your windows... no programming.

My Tig is also a MY11 and has the same functionality.

I have followed the advice of posters (thankyou all!) and have changed my car to Auto Lock when moving @ 15kph and unlock all doors with the push of one button. I now have another question (or more to the point, she who must be obeyed)... Can the car be set to automatically Unlock all doors when stopped and removing the key?

Mine is set up the same as yours and as soon as someone grabs an interior door handle it unlocks all doors. AFAIK it won't automatically unlock when you pull the key out for safety.

Also just to put your mind at piece all the doors unlock automatically if you crash. haven't tried this mind you.

                          Definitely possible in a MY11.

In my convenience menu / door opening menu, it's within the Automatic sub-menu.

You should see check boxes for 'door open' and 'door close'.
