Fair enough, mate... But that deposit, on New Year's Eve with an inability to make a comparison, was contingent on it being a GREAT, unbeatable deal. This seems not to be the case, and the pushing to make a deposit was very sudden. We agreed conditionally, and contacted the dealer the day after with our concerns about the pricing. He hadn't ordered the car, it's far away and this is ine readon its so expensive, knows we are not convinced it's a good price and I believe my partner has already contacted him to confirm its not the car for us. He is a great guy and I'll likely buy the next car from him in a couple of weeks' time, but expect the chance to shop around... The lesson here is not to shop on NYE when the dealer has targets to close and there's no way to shop around on the day. Appreciate your comments and perspective, and assure you we'll call him about the 2nd Tiguan for our family in a cpl of weeks.
