Tig's had a little noise under the tail lately...nothing major, just the odd clunk on our dirt-road driveway...
had similar issues with Golf MKV2.0TDI, and Forester before it, after having installed H/D rear swaybars...
thinking...must get that looked at, probably just one of the bolts a bit loose, translating into major clunks when, in reality, a couple of spanner turns should fix it...
Driving around in town yesterday during a dry spell, after weeks of torrential downpours and mud splattered wheels, tyres and everything else underneath, I saw a dry spot behind the parked Tig and thought, hell.., least I can do is have a look...
The Neuspeed swaybar had snapped...clean snap, bit dangling almost on the tarmac...
s**t, no wonder the car seemed a bit rolly polly in the corners...
luckily, tyre place could fit me in this morning, had the OEM bar installed, took some photo's of Neuspeed in situ, just to prove it wasn't as part of a big bang on suspension subassembly...mechanic was of the view it is a fault in the metal, also was right on the mandrel bend...
and then, and you will appreciate this team_v, after having treated the tig to a hand carwash while doing some after Christmas sales shopping..., and thinking now is the time to treat the newly cleaned wheels etc to a Nanolex treat, on opening the glove box i find the x-tra large nanolex spray container has cracked the lid and has been leaking in the glove box (i know, not the best spot to store it...)-
and was completely empty...
2011 has got to get better...!
