Do you have a writeup for the antenna? also where you got the antenna from? i'd really like to switch mine...

btw, love your ride, specially those S5 reps, have you found any VW center caps that fit on them???

Sorry ... no write up! But it's fairly easy, you access the antenna by pulling the end of the roof line off (directly above the boot lid).

Just need to undo 1 bolt that's holding the antenna down and swap the end plug on the antenna (as the Mk6 Golf one won't fit the Tig's).

a lil confused here, i have and SEL with factory RNS-510 navi, which one should i buy the mk5 or the mk6??? also is there any loss on reception/gps functionality? i doubt it but i really wanna make sure before i buy it....

It's a no brainer ... the mk6 one! Comes with gloss black painted look.

In fact, if you look at pics of the 2011/12 facelift Tig ... this will be the actual antenna they'll use on the new Tigs.



I just raided the Mk6 Golf parts bin a bit earlier!


Best to run your reception/gps question past VAGLINK.

I bought my RNS510 aftermarket, so my antenna is under the dash!

In other words, I did not care whether the GPS on this shark fin actually worked or not on the roof.

didn't work, had to return it cuz the one i ordered had 2 cables and the one i took out of my tig has 3!

i guess i'll wait for the 2012 tig one!
