Mrs recently reversed into a palm tree, no damage really except the drivers side rear parking sensor copped the burnt of it and had a small piece of bark wedged in b/w the sensor and its thin rubber housing. After that it has been 'stuck on' - so whenever the parking sensors are engaged, its convinced there is somethign we are getting close too and is relaying the appropriate noises. I think the sensor is emotionally damaged from the experience
.
I have climbed underneath the car and with some fiddling removed the sensor (its quite easy), cleaned it, removed the piece of wood and put it all back together. It looks the goods, no obvious problem at all, but has made no difference - sigh.......
I have checked the manual but couldn't see anything on resetting or the like, but I haven't as yet tried checking thru the MFD.
So not sure whether its just a reset type issue or whether I need to replace the sensor or more than that. Be nice if its just a reset, but suspect may be more of a problem than that.
Any clues/suggestions be much appreciated.
