    I don't thing so!
But, if you ad up 1.5-2hours labour, Spark plugs, Fuel and air and pollen filter, Brake fluid, to your dealer charged inspection service (15,000km oil change) you will not be that far from it.

This Price is like double compare to the spreadsheet.

Any recomendation for vw specialist in sydney?

      Thanks

Put it this way, you can't lose your warranty, most likely you will save money and leslikely will apprentice be working on your car. More experienced mechanic can pick up faults that apprentice could miss.

Same rattle as the Mk6 GTI?
This is the first time i have heard of it in a Tiguan before even though we share the same engine with the GTI

                  Hey all!

I have compared the servicing prices for our tigs. If anyone can get to Port Maquarie, then John Oxley Volkwagen (A proper VW Dealership) is SO MUCH CHEAPER!!!

The 60,000km service at Barloworld is $980 plus... For EXACTLY the same job, Oxley only charge $720.

They also have technicians that have supposedly won awards from VW out of all the Aust dealerships.

Wonder if the other places will be inclined to negotiate based on this info???

Not Sydney but CVWC (Canberra VW Centre), ~$220 for 15000/1yr., Lennocks wanted near twice. Robbery! Dealers won't see my car if I can help it.

Well, just by Asking the question, Barloworld dropped $100 off the price!!!

So everyone, just ask for a better price, and see what happens!

Hah ha...now they have phoned me and said that the wipers "really need replacing" and that will cost aver $120.

Now I know they are rip-off scums, as there is NOTHING wrong with my wipers...at least there wasnt when I drove in there this morning! I can not beleive that they think we are stupid!

If my wipers had a problem or needed replacing, then I would have it done, but this is stupid!

Also, they were supposed to fix the centre consul that has broken due to their carelesness before (long story) I showed them this part when I made the booking several weeks ago. It should have beeen ordered in then so it could have been fitted today.

Now they say "it will be ordered and arrive from Germany. I will now have to go back in another time. It is a 4 hour round trip for me to do this!! Morons.

30,000km service was quoted $610 by VW, got a great mechanic who charged $410.

I'll do the next service myself so only cost is oil + oil filter. Piece of cake.

This is just a rough guide. http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/f86/...tml#post585985
at 60,000km Haldex oil needs replacing and also ATF in Tiguans with automatic transmission, so expect to pay more. However with VW now loosing a grip on VW504.00/507.00 oils, since they're available for less than $80 retail for 5L the cost of 15,000km service shouldn't be as expensive as in the past.

is there any software update that need to be done on 15000KM services by the dealer?
if not then I will just bring to the independent mechanic

                              thanks guys

The only update i am aare of was the keyhole cover in the door handle that was able to be replaced as they had fallen off on some vehicles.
