        Hi all,

First time poster, as just joined after purchasing my tiguan last weekend.

Need to get a 15,000k service, do we have any jimmy like vw specialists in sydney that anyone knows of? I want someone to go over the car with a fine tooth comb to ensure all is good...

Thanks all and looking forward to many more posts in the future.

Just got my 1yr/15k service done.

$255 at VW Village in Kensington. They seemed like pretty good guys, can't comment on workmanship though as it is only really an oil change...guess it hasn't leaked!

Its a major brand weakness VW Australia has not introduced discounted included or fixed price servicing for the first 30,000km plus -like everyone else.
The blatant dealer service rip-offs and cash-grabs sour the positive ownership experience and needs to be reined in.
Running at #9 or #10 in Australian new car sales means its now mainstream and can't hide behind "speciality" tag.
In Europe, VW service costs are little different than the other compact vehicles (with the exception of the oil I suppose)
Here MB B Class services cost less than Tiguan for a similarly priced but prestige vehicle - surely that's not right?
Cost of ownership and resale values are affected by excessive dealer service costs - which provides no more profit to VWA, which apparently is meant to control the dealer franchises with an iron fist.
Come on VWA, get your act together before you damage the brand further
              </endrant>

                Hello Guys,

Anyone did 15k service for 147TSI recently? How much do they cost? I call up 2 dealership in Melbourne and they are quoting me between $385 and $420.

                Regards,

                  Re: Cost of Tiguan services

Any independent VW specialist should be able to do it for no more than$300.

hahaha... yes....I should. I just got back from overseas and the car has been sitting in the garage for almost a year!

As for VW Specialist, do they do "documented" repairs?

They can do anything, providing you're paying for it.

Oh, so issues like wastegate rattle and keyhole cover issues will be resolve under warranty with Dealership service where as with VW specialist we have to pay for it?
