Tools for Tiguan

Hi guys.
So i am in the preparation stage where i am getting stuff together for the Tig's arrival.


Does the car come with a tool-kit to allow basic maintenance (Torx screwdriver kit etc)?
Is there any other tools i should be getting for said maintenance?


I will be looking at a new scissor lift jack as i don't trust the VW ones.
Just wondering if i will need any other things while i am getting the jack.

It does have a little tool bag, but it it VERY basic. You will need to get extra's yourself if you intend doing anything more than changing the tyre at the side of the road. From memory it has some horrible pliers, a screw driver, wheel spanner, and not much more.

Might pick up a screwdriver set with torx attachments and some spanners for it as well.
A good set of pliers might be a good addition.

Any other tools that might be necessary for general maintenance?

Decent metric socket set, a multimeter, rags, get a proper Torx set (if VW use em, haven't looked closely yet) as screw driver ones don't give enough purchase if the bolts are tight, and a torque wrench.

That should get you started, then buy tools as you need them. Don't skimp on tools, decent tools you only buy once, cheap tools you buy, use, throw away in disgust and buy decent ones, so it costs you more.

If you don't have the socket set yet this one from Minimax (made in japan) is good it is Pro quality and has hex, torx and spline socket sets as well.

You can also get the spline socket set from Minimax, I think it was less than $30 for only the spline socket set (I bought two of them)

That's exactly what i was after.
I will have a look at Bunnings/supercheap and see what they have the is suitable.



Will have a look at the Minimax kit later today as well Transporter.
