Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Or rather post a picture here? I'd be interested to see what they look like on a Mountain Grey too. If not, please PM me too! Thanks!

For what it's worth I've just had the German "Cobra" side mouldings fitted on mine. I imported them from Britain and had the dealer fit them for me (could have done it myself but they quoted $25 to fit them and it was going in for a full service anyway !!). So, all up cost ended up at NZ$250. By the way I hadn't been able to source ANY in NZ, though they may be available somewhere by now. Here's the before and after pics.

Hi there. Yep they're black and I imported them from here : 4x4 Accessories from AutoStyling Truckman - The 4x4 Accessories Superstore They are invoiced as Cobra side moulding NIS2642 at a total cost of 88 GBP incl 28.37 GBP postage.

Would have to say that the "process" is one I wouldn't repeat as they didn't have credit card facilities so I had to transfer the funds to them which cost an extra $20 in bank fees, then in order to keep the cost down, I had them dispatched by "Royal Mail" rather than any Courier service and although that saved money they weren't able to be tracked and they took 3 months to get here (by which time I was convinced somebody had flogged them !!)

Interestingly when they arrived they were for all sorts of model of car but the Tiguan wasn't mentioned at all !!! Anyway, they fit perfectly and look "original" in my view AND they should stop any MORE dents from mad women with shopping trolleys in carparks !!!!

            Cheers
