  • Soft-road Treks

I've been searching on where we can do some light off-roading or soft-roading and found this site.

    http://www.exploroz.com/AWD/Treks.aspx

Has anyone been on any of the ones near Sydney?

    Cheers!

    Hey

Yeah, I've done a trek fairly similar to the Watties one they have on their site. Check my write-up in this thread: http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/newf...ad.php?t=35217 at about post number 7.

There is an awesome book called "4WD Treks Close to Sydney" you can get from Boiling Billy publications for $22 that is well worth getting. It has detailed instruction and GPS points, and rates the tracks suitability for soft-roaders.

I am going to get off my bum soon and try organise a day out for us Tig owners near Sydney. I'll probably aim at doing a trip south of Sydney... possibly the " Caves to Caves" route.

    I'm presuming you'd be keen?

Definitely keen on hitting the dirt and gravel... just need to wait 3 long weeks before I collect my tig. My only concern is I don't have the off-road pack so I'd rather stick to the easier treks.

It's great that you are organising something for us Tig owners. Much appreciated! Most of the get-togethers found in this forum are catered to the GTIs and R32s.
