Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Cool, thanks for that... so that'll leave another hole for me to fill with something else

bumping a really old thread here but i am thinking the may be something some has looked into but i read in the manual on my car about a compressor that fits in one of the voids in the spare tyre well, was this a factory option or an vw aftermarket bit not sure if the tig is the same as the golf but thought it more likely someone where may have tried.

In the UK and a few other countries I believe the Tig comes with the compressor and tyre sealant goo, but here in Aus we get the biscuit wheel only. Compressor is not an option even. I would guess that the compressor isn't that good anyway, so it's worth going for a decent aftermarket one. I used mine over the New Years break to pump up the tyres after going on a beach - worked a treat. Took about 15 minutes to get all 4 tyres up to pressure and I was on my way. Well worth getting!
