  • 2011 Tiguan?

    Hi all

    I'm assuming this is a video that shows the upcoming exterior changes to the Tiguan.

    Anyone know if there are any interior changes - or is it too early to tell?

    No, I think that it is current Tiguan.
    Facelift or speculation how it will look like in 2011 is in this thread.

    Nice video anyway.

      Nice video anyway.
      What ??????? it at least has an entirely new grill, fog lights etc. Looks like an update to me, doesn't look like any current Tiguan I've seen !!!

      Here's the pics that show the new steering wheel etc:

        Looks suspiciously like an update model to me. On the other hand, l guess it may just be a case of cosmetic differences for another country.

          Well it's an "update" for China anyway cos they've been making and selling Tigs there for quite a while now and all the pics I've seen have been the same as ours prior to this.

              Hi Guys,

              The Tiguan should be getting a facelift much like the Jetta has just gone through, so expect to see the new steering wheel to keep inline with the Golf and Passat.

              Cheers

                This from all I can understand from Shanghai VW was a joint collaboration with Shanghai VWs Design Center taking charge of leading this design so China only for this face.

                Expect the 2011 to be very similar but offering higher spec design eg daytime running lights etc.

                    Looks like they get -

                    1) Different grill?

                    2) matt silver bit under the front bumper bar, matching one at the back?

                    3) Silver strip on the top of the plastic strip on the doors?

                    4) chrome ring around the fog lights?

                    5) New Steering wheel?

                    Anything else?

                      It also has a longer wheelbase by 80mm so 2684mm vs 2604mm.

                      L = 4525mm vs 4427mm
                      W = 1809mm (same)
                      H = 1685mm vs 1686mm

                        Ah, I get it - like the odd-looking stretched Passat - they stitch in extra legroom in the rear, as anyone who can afford a car like this can also afford a driver.

                          Looks the same as the current one. A new grill does not make a new new car. Neither does a new steering wheel. I love my 2010 Tigga and it will serve me well over the next 3 years.

                            At the 7th China (Guangzhou) International Automobile Show, which opened on Monday, Volkswagen and its Chinese partner Shanghai Automotive Industry Corp (SAIC) revealed the 2010MY domestic market version of the Tiguan SUV. In comparison to the current Tiguan sold in Europe, North America and other international markets, the Chinese models features a new grille that extends to the headlights and a re-profiled front bumper.

                            Inside, from what we can tell by looking at these first official photos, changes are limited to a new three-spoke steering wheel and the redesigned instrument panel that features two central gauges incorporating two smaller dials.

                            VW Shanghai's press release does not clarify if these styling changes are exclusive for the Chinese-spec model or if they will pass on to the Tiguan sold in other markets as well.
                            I am guesing their are china domestic market modifications as their tig's can seat up to 7 people apparently and they have a lot more product variation than anywhere else.

                              The above is not the facelifted version. According to this article, the facelifted version is 2 years away.
