  • Another Tigga hits Adelaide Roads

Well... after a 4 month wait, I finally took delivery of my new Tigga today. Cheers to Solitaire for looking after me.
It's been worth the wait. I don't remember the test drive being so smooth and quiet. She's a dream to drive. I opted for the 125 TSI petrol and I gotta say AMPLE POWER! This thing just takes off from the lights leaving everybody behind. (Not that I'm racing already). I'm glad I chose the 125.
SatNav is excellent although I have to take it back in to change the region code to Australia. Apart from that, we are currently experiencing a heat wave here in Adelaide and the Airconditioner in the Tigga is so powerful, if you turn it all the way down, you would need your ski clothing inside to keep warm. UNREAL!
I freaked out my sister with the Park Assist. It managed to squeeze itself into a carpark I would have never attempted myself. Only problem was getting back out again. It was a tight fit.
Rear View camera is great too. You even have a good viewable picture at night. The rear of the car is well illuminated and the camera picks up enough light to produce a bright image on the screen.
Paint Protection, Cloth Protection and Tinted Windows came with a lifetime certificate. I was told to only wash the car on a regular basis and I will never have to polish the car. We'll see.
Bluetooth works well although it's only the standard version. It mutes the radio automatically when you initiate a call or rerceive a call. Audio clarity is excellent on both ends. Would love to have the premium version though.
My verdict after day one: Excellent

      NICE! Very nice!

Gotta love the black, and love your first impressions of the car. I see you got Pirelli P6's with it... maybe that's contributing to the quieter ride a bit?

Can't wait to hear your ongoing commentary...

Hmmmmm, perhaps there must be something wrong with our AC then. I live in QLD and even with the AC up to max cool, I'm not overly impressed with it.....but then again I do like my cars cold!!!

My Tig Aircon is great even with sunroof. Today (hot and sunny 29deg) I had to turn the temp up to 21 deg because I was too cold. Much better aircon than the Golf V. No complaints from me. I would check the temp at the air vents and compare with another Tiguan.

Is it a 2010 model? We have a 2010 model and the RVC doesn't work yet, apparently a bug in the software. Did you have any problems?

There really is not much to report. The car has been operating without ANY faults. Everythng is working beautifully. Love the SatNav, Love the RVC, Love the Bluetooth... love it all!
                  End of Report!

I have the Goodyear Eagle F1 and I find them very quiet. But generally speaking the Tig has good soundproofing.

Just curious.....what are the two slots to the left of the hazard lights switch?

Card holders - fuel card, VW Roadside Assist card, EFTPOS Card, whatever you want. The blank bit on the right of the hazard light has an airbag (or airbag switch) in the US, but in Aus it's just a blank plate. Would have been nice to have another card holder IMO.

In the Kiwi one's you can switch off the passenger air-bag in the glove box (using the key) and the "blank plate" you talk about has a warning light in it to remind you that you've done that. Would have thought the Ausi ones were the same ??

No, we're lacking in the "switch off the passenger air-bag in the glove box" switch department. At least on my 2010 TDI we are.
