I take it the OS model doesn't come standard with side air bags? Or are they not deployed in a frontal crash? Looks like they should be in this crash test!!

All Tigs have standard side air bags but they're not deployed in a frontal crash (I agree with you though it does look as if they should be, that said, it could be that they'd already be deflated by the time the driver's head rebounded to there ??). There are additional "side rear" airbags which are an optional extra.

Not sure about the 2010 to be honest but the 2009 had side curtain air-bags as standard but there were "extra" rear side ones that were an optional extra.

not sure if there is a separate thread for articles, but this seemed the most relevant. Two articles (one todays SMH other the Age) may be of interest:

The Golf/Tig pair do well, shame VW didn't bring out a more serious Tig, the 147 could go so much harder (and of course does with a quick and easy APR upgrade)
