DVD player in RNS510 - Region Code

Hi guys,

Today I popped a DVD into my RNS510 but a message said that the DVD was the wrong region code. I checked the region code on the DVD, which was 4 - the code we use in Australia. Does this mean I will only be able to play German DVD's or is there a way to fix the problem? I played another DVD which was uncoded and it worked well. The majority of my discs are region 4 though

It's a simple process to change the region code, either the dealer or anyone with a Vagcom/VCDS cable can do this.

Sorry for the bump, but I've been running into a bunch of Wrong Region Code errors on my RNS510 which I've already changed to region 4 a year or so ago. Connected VCDS again today to confirm it's still set to 4. Trying to play genuine DVDs from JB that say they are region 4.

Any ideas?

Did you get your RNS on eBay? I've heard of some being changed to many times and locking in the last region. even though you can change it with VCDS and it says 4 it will stay locked on the last one. Not sure how many goes you get or wether you can reset it but there's probly a way.

Usually with DVD players it's 5 times. I got mine from eBay (UK) but back in October 2010 so not sure why anyone would change it that often before then.
