Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

ABT gear is tremendously expensive.
To be honest, i don't even like the tiguan kit from them.

I just don't like the stock wheelarches and even the factory accesory VW rubber wheel arches look cheap, I plan on getting 19" or 20" wheels. As awhole the ABT kit is not for me icluding the wheels but the rear bumber/difusor setup is an improvement and the wheel arch extenders look good painted in body color(aus spelling).
An alternative is the Caractere kit as seen in US prices in the follwing link, the front and rear spoilers are abit more out there than the ABT.

Can't find any prices in Au dollars I have the prices ona pdf in Euro though, wish the value of the Aus dollar was the same as to the US fgor euroLast edited by cubes; 05-08-2009, 04:26 PM.sigpic

The caractere kit looks a lot better than the ABT one.
I don't think they have an Australian distributer as i was looking at their website before.
Again, this route is going to cost you a fortune, sorry to be a downer but their kits are very expensive to get shipped here.

agree the caractere kit looks better, especially the rear and the front treatment. But the rear roof spoiler both look shocking - looks like a baseball cap! and the arches are a complete non. But I do like the rear effect very much especially as the rear of the Tig rates the lowest in the style dept. for me.

Its this simple in my opinion.
You pay for what you get to be honest with euro body kits.
ABT, Oettinger, MTM, whoever you choose will not be expensive. They are plastic most of the time and high quality and 100% perfect fit.
$2-4k for a kit for a VW/Audi/BMW is quite normal!What’s behind you doesn’t matter..
