  • MY10 Dash

This is from nadaguides.com pics of the 2010 Tiguan... here

Hopefully all the rumour about the changes is just scuttlebutt. Fingers crossed!

How can it when a Euro owner has posted pics of his 2010 Tig? Makes sense that Euro owners would be the first to receive the updates.

Me, I'm not bothered as I really like the blue/red dash...mind you a mate has a Mk6 Golf and the dash looks really nice I think the MFD is better (more features), once you get it you'll like it, looks better in real life...go check out a Golf 6.

From what I've seen Americans often label their cars a year in advance. When I was waiting for my Tig last year Tigs over there were labelled 2009 models when it was only 1/2 way through 2008...

I think the guide is using current pictires as a placemarker for the MY10

        WannaTig,
Nadaguides is wrong. White lights are in for the dashboard. (Design same as New Golf 6) Blue remains for climate control.
New Material & Design cloth seats.
Park assist improved, require less room to park. Length of Tig + 1.1m
Minor changes to electronic programming etc. we wont see.
Attempts made to fix Customer and Dealer complaints re: minor mechanical problems.
Got this information from an Italian Tiguan Forum. A guy had got access to
an internal factory communication with the above changes and he posted it.

            Bummer.

I did see those, which is why I started searching for '2010' pics, cos I do not like the dash panel in that one... the dial-in-a-dial thing they've got looks cheap and nasty, and I thought the red and blue looks really nice in the MY09s. Praying I don't get those god-awful seats or I might just do my deposit and renege, I bought the car because I loooooooved it (space saver aside!). I should, seeing as I intend to keep it till it falls apart. Buying a brand new car is a very big deal to me, and seeing as I'll be looking it every day I think it is reasonable to at least want something if find attractive.

Not feeling the love so much anymore, oh dear I think I'm getting buyers remorse.

yeh, I hope they don't come out like that. I agree the dial in a dial looks bloody awful, cheap and nasty. YUK!

What colour is it? Put a satnav in it and I'm halfway sold!

Went and had a look at the Golf dash today, its not so bad in the flesh. Not loving it like the old design, but I'm not hating it so much. Maybe it was the lighting in the showroom... didn't look so yuck.

Anyway, nice helpful dealer showed me the memo about the changes, is only the dash panel, the steering wheel stays the same, as does the rest of the console. Upholstery change on the 147, improved park assist, different options i.e. sat-nav/camera pricing and tint option on 103 and 125. No more Catalina blue, no more CD stacker. Um, that's all I can remember.

Anyways, I'm happy again and can't wait to get my hands on it. Looking at a Tig waiting to be picked up rekindled the love. ETA to docks July 24, plus ?? to me!! Yay

                      1. Surprised they're staying with the GolfV steering wheel, contrary to other reports - I think the GolfVI wheel controls are an improvement - intuitive
                      2. Factory Tint would have been great - aftermarket tint is so inferior.

I'm guessing we can't just get our current model software "upgraded" so that the reduction in Park Assist distance and the minor changes are integrated?

The current park assist (pre 2010)is 1.5m and that's way less than I'd park in myself (by choice anyway), think I'd have a heart attack at 1.1m !!!!!!!

                          Cheers

I agree, 1.1m would be just asking to be nudged parked by the car behind or infront. It would be interesting to know exactly what changes have been made with the park assist, sensors, hardware/firmware or steering rack?

Personally I rarely use PA but I guess when I get a stiff neck or some other disability, the use of it is always available. Maybe the tight spots are what it is best used for, but I would just look for a larger car space.

Yep, I use it most when the parking spaces are a bit tight, you know the one's where you "know" you can get in there BUT don't want to look like a prat if you stuff it up and have to have another go and another and >>>>>>>>.

So, just flick on park assist, put your hands on your head and get on with it !!!
