Lines on Side View Mirror

Hi,

When I was test driving TDI 103 last Saturday I noticed that there is a line on the side view mirror close to the our edge of the mirror. I wanted to ask dealer about it but totally forgot about it as I was overly excited by the driving experience. Can anyone here please tell me what those lines are for?

Aspherical Exterior Mirror.
It provides a wide angle / larger field of vision.

well, there ya go,
Im glad someone asked the question, i was going to ferret through the manaul but alas all sorts of other things got in the way.
These forums are great for that stuff

So MKTD, are you going to buy, my test drive was only short but was enough to convince me.

but my last volkswagen only cost me $250.00, seems to gone up a bit in price.

Thanks for the info.

Yes I have put down the deposit already and the car is due to be delivered in Nov09. The dealer said it'd be 2010 model but I think it'd still be considered as 09 model when I sell the car some year down the track.

Hi, The line on the mirrors is the heating element (just like the back windows), turn the mirror adjustment dial to heat and they clear up real quick!
