I was advised that the first 7500km was optional.
The sticker on my car says 7500km or after 6 months...
but one of the service people said I could bring it in - or just reset the computer myself.
I for one will probably do it.2009 147TSI Tiguan, Deep Black Pearl Effect, Black Leather, Sunroof, RNS510, Bluetooth, and MDI.

Is it free? If so - why not take it in and let them look...
otherwise - check your manual... go with that that tells you... or
wait and your car will tell you when it is due for servicing.2009 147TSI Tiguan, Deep Black Pearl Effect, Black Leather, Sunroof, RNS510, Bluetooth, and MDI.

I have the TDI and was told the first service is at 7500km... and it's optional, though advised. Will be $90 if I remember correctly. I reckon it's worth doing. 3000km sounds early given what I was told, but then again, given the most wear is likely to happen in the first 1000km's it might not be such a bad plan to get it done earlier.sigpic
